Before beginning a chapter 7 bankruptcy, you must obtain a consumer credit counseling briefing. A counselor will go over your income and debts with you to make an initial determination of your qualifications. You will be issued a certificate that will be downloaded by our office and filed with your bankruptcy case. The following issues should be considered before filing:
* Possible "non-exempt" assets (example: cash)
* Types of debts
* Any potential problems
